EAST BROOKFIELD, MA – In a recent organizational announcement, the Spencer-East Brookfield School District has announced the appointment of Mrs. Chrissy Lavin as the “Lead Teacher” at East Brookfield Elementary School, effective immediately. This decision comes with a background of Mrs. Lavin’s impressive qualifications and a strategic transition within the district.
Mrs. Lavin’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Geography, a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education, and a Master of School Administration with honors in Principal/Assistant Principal, all earned from Worcester State University. With nearly a quarter-century of experience in education, she has been a dedicated educator in the local community, having served at both the Lashaway and East Brookfield Elementary Schools. Her contributions to the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District extend beyond the classroom, as she has actively participated in various sub-committees, committees, and boards.
Superintendent of Schools, Paul Haughey, expressed his admiration for Mrs. Lavin, stating, “What has impressed me most about Mrs. Lavin is her unwavering commitment to continuous learning and her exemplary role as a model within the learning community. She is a consummate professional who embodies values of respect, responsibility, and a strong commitment to going above and beyond for both staff and students. Furthermore, Mrs. Lavin has consistently demonstrated her dedication to her students as a reflective practitioner who prioritizes their needs.”
This announcement follows the earlier news that Mr. Ron Tomlin had accepted the position of Principal for Knox Trail Middle School in early November. During this transitional period, Mrs. Manske, Director of Preschool/Early Education and Care, temporarily shared responsibilities with Mr. Tomlin in overseeing East Brookfield Elementary School.
With Mrs. Lavin stepping into her leadership role, the East Brookfield School District anticipates continued growth and success in delivering a quality education to its students.
