SPENCER/EAST BROOKFIELD – Jason Webster, a veteran Massachusetts educator and school administrator, has been selected as the next principal of Knox Trail Middle School.

Webster will begin his new position this summer, succeeding Sean McNiff, according to an announcement from the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District.

Webster most recently served as principal of Athol-Royalston Middle School, a position he held for three years. His previous administrative experience includes serving as principal of Hawthorne Brook Middle School in Townsend and Quinn Middle School in Hudson.

Superintendent Paul Haughey said Webster’s experience working with middle school students, instructional leadership and collaborative approach made him a strong choice for the position.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Webster to the Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District,” Haughey said. “His deep familiarity with middle school dynamics, paired with his strong foundation as an instructional leader, makes him the ideal choice to guide Knox Trail Middle School forward and build upon its proud traditions of academic and extracurricular excellence.”

Webster began his career as a mathematics teacher at Notre Dame Preparatory School in Fitchburg. He later taught math at the middle and high school levels in Marlborough and served as a long-term substitute teacher at Framingham High School.

District officials described Webster as a student-centered leader who prioritizes relationships among students, faculty, staff and families. His approach focuses on establishing high expectations while creating a positive and supportive school culture.

“I look forward to starting meaningful conversations with the faculty, staff and families of Knox Trail Middle School this summer,” Webster said. “My goal is to ensure every student feels known, supported and challenged as we work together to prepare them for lifelong success.”

The district plans to provide opportunities for students, families and community members to meet Webster during orientation events ahead of the upcoming school year.
